Condition
Framed: 49 x 58 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.Significant deposits of surface dirt and dust; the relined canvas is significantly sagging; there is an L-shaped repair accompanied by visible inpainting in the upper center of the background, as well as an L-shaped repair with visible inpainting and small paint losses in the center, the longest no greater than 3 inches in length; a small spot of visible inpainting in the figure's right shin; additional small spots of inpainting are scattered throughout but are not as visible; small paint losses along the extreme left edge; pinpoint white stains scattered throughout; the majority of the painting is dark with uneven surface texture. Under UV light: the background is covered by thick, green varnish; in addition to the aforementioned areas of inpainting, there are small spots of inpainting throughout, as well as a large area between the figure's left arm and left leg and a border of inpainting around the edges.
